They have just launched a Nintendo Switch stand that features not one, not two, but a total of four USB ports.
I know what you’re thinking. How can you make use of four USB ports? It’s an embarrassment of riches really, but how about connecting a wired controller, USB keyboard, LAN adapter and a microphone all at the same time? With this Switch stand you can. There is some real potential here, and if latency is not an issue, competitive Super Smash Bros Switch with 4-wired controllers sounds pretty swank. According to Hori, you can just connect your official Nintendo Switch AC adapter to the stand and you’re all set.
Having the extra USB ports certainly opens the door to possibilities, but there is more. The stand offers adjustable angles and provides viewing angles anywhere between the sweet spot of 30-60 degrees. It can go beyond these angles, but these are noted as providing the best viewing.
Hori also appreciates the portable nature of the Nintendo Switch and made this with a sturdy compact design. The way it folds up, the charging stem that the Switch console sits on is completely covered and protected. Additionally, there are no real edges on the stand that will get caught up on a bag or purse opening. Just toss it in your bag and you’re good to go.
If you’re not overly familiar with Hori, they have a long history with making top-notch Nintendo accessories. Back in the day, their Nintendo 64 controllers were treasured because many people felt the quality was better than the actual original Nintendo controllers. From there they have really pumped out some impressive stuff in subsequent years. If you had to pick a Nintendo Switch accessory, Hori should really be your first choice if at all possible.
Right now, this Hori Switch stand is selling in Japan for around $38, although that’s a straight conversion from yen, so it’s not the most accurate price to go with depending on what country you live in.
