Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay Revealed in Twitch Livestream

The rumours were true. CD Projekt Red has unveiled Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay during their Twitch stream today. It’s exactly like all of the write-ups we’ve read of the gameplay demos shown at E3 and Gamescom earlier in the year, and it’s almost a whole hour’s worth.

The Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo has practically become a legend by now, with much of the press gaining access to behind-closed-doors screenings and only being able to tell the masses about what they saw. That is, until now. Earlier today, CD Projekt Red started a Twitch stream spewing out Base64 code. It then started to “load” a piece of software, and at 6 p.m. CEST, it was revealed that the studio would finally be showing off the work-in-progress Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay demo, in all its 48-minute long glory.

So far we’ve seen the first mission involving the protagonist, V, rescuing a high-value target from body modification scavengers and also acquainted ourselves with V’s apartment (one-night-stand and all). CD Projekt Red takes us through the entirety of the demo we’ve all heard about, and despite it very definitely still being a work in progress, it looks impressive. With this being the first opportunity we’ve had to take a look ourselves, it’s also interesting to see that many of the environments that we’ve seen in the E3 Cyberpunk 2077 trailer are present here – like the MMA fighter sparring with a robot.

One of the most fascinating parts of the gameplay demo is finally getting to see how jacking in works as, during the Maelstrom mission to recover the Militech drone, V jacks into a ganger to access their network. We see a hazy, 3D layout of the building, with different points of access for a Netrunner to make use of. As we’ve seen in the write-ups, V uses this opportunity to sever a Maelstrom gang member’s connection to his gun.

The video upload of this gameplay demo is out now. Check it out in the video below.
