The much-anticipated Spider-Man has not even released to the public just yet, but already Sony is announcing that there will be a few surprises waiting for players of the game after its debut next Friday, September 7. In fact, the reveal of a Spider-Man DLC release date will be sure to keep a number of fans hyped, especially with a name like The City That Never Sleeps.
In our latest Spider-Man guide we’ve talked about how many sick days (uh, we mean hours) you’ll need to take off to beat the game, but as with every game you’ve finished, some players may be wondering what will happen next. After all, you’ve waited so long for one game, now that it’s completed, what else is there to do?
Thankfully Sony has that answer ready and waiting. In The City that Never Sleeps, you’ll finally meet a character that’s referenced heavily in the base game: Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat. During the main story, PlayStation Blog Europe explains that the player will realize “Black Cat is back in town and she’s leaving clues around town to toy with Spider-Man.” Will you finally meeting her in the DLC imply that there’ll be an ultimate showdown? We can’t wait to find out.
PlayStation Blog Europe also announced that The City That Never Sleeps will have three chapters, with the very first titled as ‘The Heist’. The dates for the following chapters, as well as ‘The Heist’ are as follows:
- October 23 – Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist
- November – Marvel’s Spider-Man: Turf Wars
- December – Marvel’s Spider-Man: Silver Lining
While we don’t have definite dates for the next two chapters, we can speculate that the chapters will be released around the same time as the first Spider-Man DLC release date.
We don’t know the price of the DLC just yet, nor has there been any mention of a season pass from Sony. However, if you’re intrigued by the thought of having the DLC, you still have time to pre-order Spider-Man and see what awaits you this September 7 and October 23.
