Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have announced that Dead or Alive 6 will be released for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 15, 2019. We first received confirmation of the next installment in the long-running fighting game franchise back in June during E3 2018. The official Dead or Alive 6 release date means that the upcoming game will be the first mainline Dead or Alive title in over seven years.
Besides the Dead or Alive 6 release date announcement, the developer and publisher have also revealed the various editions and pre-order bonuses for the game. There will be different pre-order bonuses for owners of different consoles. Other fighting game franchises have done the same in the past, including the likes of Soul Calibur 4.
For Dead or Alive 6, those who pre-order the game on the PS4 will receive a unique Dead or Alive 6 theme and obtain “The Female Tengu” Nyotengu as a playable character. Meanwhile, those who pre-order the game on the Xbox One will receive a bonus costume for Ryu Hayabusa, alongside Nyotengu as a playable character as well.
Additionally, there will also be special early purchase bonuses for all three platforms. PS4 and Xbox One owners will receive a bonus costume for Kasumi while PC owners on Steam will unlock both the Kasumi bonus costume and Nyotengu. However, gamers will need to digitally purchase the game by March 14, 2019, to reap the benefits of the special early purchase bonus program.
Last but not least, a Dead or Alive 6 Digital Deluxe Edition will be available for purchase. It will contain 25 extra costumes, three bonus musical tracks, an exclusive DDX Kasumi costume, and a new playable fighter named Phase 4, who is actually the clone of Kasumi. So far, confirmed characters for the game include fan-favorites like Kasumi, Hayate, Hayabusa, Helena, Jann Lee, and Zack.
