Dark Horse and CD Projekt Red have announced a new The Witcher comic miniseries titled The Witcher of Flesh and Flame. It will be helmed by The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt writer Aleksandra Motyka and artist Marianna Strychowska. The four-issue miniseries will star returning protagonist Geralt of Rivia in a brand new tale set in the world of The Witcher.
In The Witcher Of Flesh and Flame, Geralt of Rivia takes a break from his usual monster slaying to help an old friend solve a mystery involving his daughter. However, just like the complex side quests in The Witcher 3, this tale will be full of unexpected twists and turns that even the seasoned White Wolf won’t able to foresee.
The cover of the first issue has been revealed, courtesy of CBR. From our observations, it seems that Geralt is preparing to unleash an Igni sign against whatever creature is standing outside the window. The creature could be a vampire from the looks of its silhouette. The Witcher 3 players would know that vampires are extremely difficult to kill according to the lore of The Witcher.
This upcoming new comic miniseries will actually be the fifth The Witcher title to be published by Dark Horse. Previous comic books include House of Glass, Fox Children, Curse of Crows and Killing Monsters. The Witcher Of Flesh and Flame is slated to be released both physically and digitally on December 19, 2018.
The Witcher 3 won’t be the only video game property to receive the comic book treatment of late. In other related news, Dark Horse will also be publishing a God of War PS4 prequel comic miniseries, which will be set between the events of 2010’s God of War 3 and 2018’s God of War. It will star an angrier Kratos who has not yet to become a father, and it will release on November 14, 2018.
