Square Enix has officially released the Left Alive release date trailer earlier today. It is slated to launch worldwide for the PS4 and PC on March 5, 2019. However, Japan will be receiving the game one month earlier on February 28, 2019. The upcoming game is actually set in the iconic mecha Front Mission universe. The last title in the franchise was 2010’s Front Mission Evolved for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
The Left Alive release date trailer showcases the setting and story of the game. Left Alive takes place in the fictional land of Novo Slava in the year 2127. According to the trailer, there will presumably be three playable protagonists in the game, each with their own stories, missions, and narrative. Notable developers working on the game include Armored Core series director Toshifumi Nabeshima, Kojima Productions and Metal Gear series character designer Yoji Shinkawa, as well as Takayuki Yanase, who is responsible for designing the mechas in Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Besides the Left Alive release date trailer, Square Enix has also announced the Left Alive Mech Edition and Left Alive Day One Edition. The Mech Edition is only exclusively available for pre-order on the Square Enix Online Store, and in limited quantities at that. Meanwhile, the Day One Edition can already be pre-ordered on the PlayStation Store and Steam for the PS4 and PC versions, respectively.
The Left Alive Mech Edition is essentially the collector’s edition of the game. Exclusive items in the Mech Edition include a steelbook case, hardback art collection, mecha Volk action figure, collector’s box, and the Survival Pack DLC. There will only be a total of 3000 units of the Mech Edition available globally, so gamers should grab it fast if they’re interested.
