God Eater 3 Release Date

God Eater 3 Release Date Announced in New Trailer

Bandai Namco has announced the God Eater 3 release date in a new trailer earlier today. The highly-anticipated sequel to God Eater 2 is slated to launch worldwide for the PS4 and PC on February 8, 2019, while Japanese gamers will receive the game several months earlier on December 13, 2018. The new trailer features English voiceovers.

The new trailer not only reveals the official God Eater 3 release date but also details about the story featured in the upcoming JRPG game. The Fenrir headquarters from the first two games is gone, replaced by an infected area called the Ashlands, bringing with it new Aragamis and threats. With a host of new characters and new weapons, players will have to halt the Ash from spreading further. Since Fenrir is no more, players will have to rely on mobile fortresses called Caravans as their home bases.

Developed by Shift, God Eater 3 will introduce dual wielding for the first time ever in the franchise. Several characters can be seen wielding dual weapons in the new God Eater 3 release date trailer. The game will feature new Aragamis, as well as returning enemies like Sariel, Marduk, Hannibal, Chrome Gawain, and Vajra. Additionally, it will also be the first title in the franchise to be built for current-gen platforms.

God Eater 3 multiplayer will allow up to eight players to play at the same time, while previous games only allowed up to four at a time. The first two games were only ported to the PS4 and PC much later than their original Japanese versions. For instance, the localized version of God Eater 2 Rage Burst was only released outside of Japan in 2016. The first God Eater game has also been adapted into an anime series by studio Ufotable. In the meantime, check out the God Eater 3 trailer below, titled “Take Back Our World.”
