The Newest League of Legends Character Is a LGBTQ Lizard Girl

The newest League of Legends character is a shape-shifting chameleon girl. She also has been confirmed to be part of the LGBTQ community, which is apparent in some of her voice lines.

Her name, as PC Gamer reports, is Neeko and she is a part chameleon hybrid. This gives her the ability to shapeshift and confuse her enemies on the battlefield. However, she can only turn into other ally champions and she’ll return to normal upon attacking or being attacked.

Convincing enemy teams she’s a bigger threat than she is or allowing them to underestimate her appears to play a key strategy in playing this new hero. Players can even use her to distract others from the true incoming threat or even coax them out of hiding.

Her overall personality is jovial, playful, and upbeat and she seems to truly enjoy her ability to transform. Many of her voice lines imply an intense curiosity and pleasure in taking on other forms. Not only that, but fans are noticing that her voice lines are a bit different from some of the other characters. She definitely shows a preference for other female characters over men in her interactions. When asked about it on Twitter, Neeko’s writer Matt Dunn confirmed that fan speculation is correct and she absolutely identifies as a lesbian.

This doesn’t exactly make her the first LGBTQ League of Legends champion. Varus could be considered as he contains the souls of the hunters Valmar and his heartlight Kai. She does make for a more open version with these small changes to her interactions, rather than just a page of lore of backstory.

The newest League of Legends character Neeko also isn’t the only female character getting a lot of attention recently. The newly released music video featuring Akali, Ahri, Evelynn, and Kai’sa the League of Legends KDA song hitting number 1 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales Chart.
