Assassin’s Creed Symphony Tour Announced for Next Year

An Assassin’s Creed symphony tour is coming to North America and Europe nest year. The tour features a full orchestra, choir, and immersive video that will highlight memorable moments in the series. The tour kicks off in Los Angeles in June 2019.

Ubisoft announced the Assassin’s Creed Symphony tour earlier today. The tour will showcase music from over 10 of the the series’ main titles. Ubisoft partnered with MGP Live to produce the symphony tour. In a press release, MGP Live CEO Massimo Gallotta gave a statement on the symphony.

“We immediately felt Assassin’s Creed had the potential for a unique symphonic experience because of the diverse cultural influences in its iconic soundtrack,” said Gallotta. “We love that this concert is opening up symphonic music to a new generation of fans.”

Here’s the full line up of dates:

  • Los Angeles – The Dolby Theater, June 11, 2019.
  • Paris – Palais des Congrès, June 29, 2019.
  • San Francisco – Davies Symphony Hall, August 3, 2019.
  • Montreal, Place des Arts, September 27, 2019.
  • London, Eventim Apollo, Oct 5, 2019.
  • Milan – Teatro Degli Arcimboldi, Oct 6, 2019.

The symphony tour premiere in Los Angeles coincides with next year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which begins that day.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey released on October 5, 2018 and is set in ancient Greece. Odyssey‘s soundtrack was composed by Joe Henson and Alexis Smith, known collectively as The Flight. We liked the game, but not as much as 2017’s Origins. That game was composed by Sarah Schachner.

Jesper Kyd, Lorne Balfe, Brian Tyler, and Austin Wintory have all written soundtracks for various games in the series. Kyd scored the first game through Revelations and set the musical themes for the series. He mixed sweeping orchestral arrangements with electric guitar, synths, and heavy drums. Balfe scored Assassin’s Creed 3, who toned down the “modern” styling of previous games for the American Revolution-set title. Tyler settled into the pirate theme of Black Flag with accordions and strings aplenty. Wintory, who is best known for Journey‘s composition, provided Syndicate with an energetic string and woodwind focused soundtrack.

Tickets for the Assassin’s Creed symphony tour go on sale December 7 for Ubisoft Club Members, and December 10 for everybody else.
