You’ll be able to play The Elder Scrolls Online free this weekend on the Xbox One – as long as you have Xbox Live Gold. While Bethesda’s other major franchise is having what can charitably be described as a difficult time, The Elder Scrolls Online has been happily chugging along with no hint of controversy or trouble. Gamers will be happy to hear that they can play The Elder Scrolls Online free this weekend on the Xbox One, which is great news if you’ve been interested in checking it out but you’re not too keen on paying for a copy.
Players can hop into The Elder Scrolls Online free weekend on the Xbox One starting right now as long as they have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. This time-limited event will be going on for the next week until it ends on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at 2:59 p.m. EST. This event has no strings attached and will include the Morrowwind DLC. As an added incentive, all new The Elder Scrolls Online accounts will receive 500 Crowns of premium currency. These Crowns can be used in the Crown Store to pick up booster items like XP scrolls, consumables, and a number of collectible items.
If you participate in The Elder Scrolls Online free weekend and decide that you like the game, you’ll be able to purchase it for 50% off its retail price. The discount applies for all three platforms on the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Steam, and straight from Bethesda. There’s no end date specified for the console versions, but the Steam version discount will be running until December 20, 2018.
As with most free weekends, gamers who like what they see and decide to purchase the game after The Elder Scrolls Online free weekend will be able to continue their adventures in the world of Tamriel with all of the progress and experience they’ve accumulated during this event. If you’re keen on playing an online game from Bethesda that isn’t a disaster, look up the game on your Xbox One and have at it!
