Kingdom Hearts 3 PS4 Pro Bundle Announced

Square Enix and Sony announced a new Kingdom Hearts 3 PS4 Pro Limited edition bundle today. The 1TB PS4 Pro features a unique design, as does the bundled DualShock 4. The Limited Edition Kingdom Hearts 3 PS4 Pro was announced for the US, Canada, and some European regions.

PlayStation showed off the new bundle in a blog post today. The black PS4 Pro is set at the standard $399.99 retail price, and includes a physical copy of Kingdom Hearts 3. The design on the console features a variety of Kingdom Hearts iconography, including keyblades and heartless symbols. It’s a classy design, and one that oozes reverence for the series. The Kingdom Hearts 3 DualShock 4 looks to have a glossier finish than the standard controller, and the face buttons are no longer colored. The D-pad features a crown and heart symbol near the up and down buttons, respectively. A design is also etched on the controller’s touchpad.

The limited edition console is a Gamestop exclusive in the United States, and an EB Games exclusive in Canada. It will also be available in Europe, including exclusively at Game in the UK. It looks to be out of stock for North America as of the time of writing, although with perseverance you may be able to snag one with a pre-order.

Square Enix’s long-in-development Kingdom Hearts 3 was originally announced in 2013, although pre-production reaches as far back as 2006. The game was developed using Unreal Engine 4, and features a number of new Disney-Pixar worlds for players to explore. Sora, Goofy, and Donald will travel to Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Tangled, and Frozen worlds, among others. Director Tetsuya Nomura has suggested it will complete the main trilogy of Kingdom Hearts. When the game was announced in 2013, Nomura said it was the end of a story, but not the end of the series.

Kingdom Hearts 3 went “gold” in mid-November. This means the game was completed and sent to manufacturing for release. The game is out on January 29, 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One.
