Raidou, the spooky ninja who we haven’t seen since the first Dead or Alive game, has been confirmed for the Dead or Alive 6 roster. Raidou offers another heavy-duty fighter, mostly because he’s now more machine than man. The news comes after the game was delayed by a couple of weeks, with Dead or Alive 6 now launching on March 1.
Raidou was pretty much confirmed as being gone forever after the first game, with the ninja not showing up in any of the Dead or Alive titles we’ve seen since, but Team Ninja and Tecmo Koei have confirmed that he’ll be making up part of the game’s roster when Dead or Alive 6 releases. He wasn’t exactly a chill fighter to begin with and now he’s even angrier, as he constantly bangs on about wanting to be stronger while destroying stuff. Raidou joins up with Brad Wong and Eliot for the fighter, while characters Bass, Tina, and Mila were announced last year.
Raidou specializes in a fairly violent fighting style, crafting together Mugen Tenshin Ninjutsu with his own styles that include Tenho-Gorai-Sho and the Rekku-Jinraisatsu. That all basically means that Raidou is capable of delivering “devastating strikes,” that are probably helped by all the biotechnology that’s stuffed in his body.
Along with the new character, Team Ninja also confirmed that players would be getting a new Quest Mode and a Training Mode for Dead or Alive 6. Nothing too fancy by the sounds of it but it will be useful for those of you who want a safe space to practice before trying out online matches.
Dead or Alive 6 was delayed at the start of the month, with Tecmo Koei tweeting out the news. The delay came because the game needed a bit of extra polish to its gameplay and balance, though we suspect that the lineup for games in February probably played a role as well.
