Memes continue to get weirder as entropy destroys the natural order of our universe. Before the eventual heat death apocalypse ruins life as we know it, let’s enjoy this Scooby Doo Dragon Ball crossover meme together. The meme quickly rose to prominence seemingly overnight this past weekend.
Technically, the crossover begins with a video titled “Ultra Instinct Shaggy” from October 2017. That video sees Scooby-Doo’s Shaggy use Goku’s ultra instinct technique to become incredibly powerful and defeat a biker gang harassing his friends. The Ultra Instinct Shaggy meme went on to possess Matthew Lillard, who played Shaggy in the live-action Scooby-Doo movies.

Lillard responded, saying, “this is wrong.” Which, if you know anything about meme culture, means it was time to push the idea to new extremes. Crossovers with the Star Wars “high ground” and “Hello there” memes, among others have created an entirely new subreddit dedicated to the meme.
This meme naturally made its way to video games. There is currently a Change.org petition with over 80,000 signatures to put Shaggy in Mortal Kombat 11. He’d probably be a better fit for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, but MK11 is a solid pick.
The best memes to come out of the entire Scooby Doo Dragon Ball are those with interviews of the cast talking about Lillard’s portrayal of Shaggy. Or more accurately, the spirit of Shaggy possessing Lillard. Shaggy’s spirit is so powerful that only a minute fraction of it could actually possess Lillard, or his mortal body would be destroyed.

Meme culture is peculiar to say the least so it’s both unexpected and expected that a meme has come to this. The Scooby Doo Dragon Ball crossover, also know as Ultra Instinct Shaggy is the latest and greatest among them. There are dozens upon dozens more memes and images to check out on the BadAssShaggy subreddit.
