The Jump Force roster continues to grow as Bandai Namco confirms Jotaro Kujo and Dio Brando for the game. The JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure characters join an expansive roster in the upcoming crossover fighting game.
Bandai Namco announced the addition of Jotaro and Dio earlier this week, with several tweets. Prior to being announced, the publisher teased their inclusion with a cheeky tweet a few days ago. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fans have been hoping that characters from the long-running manga would make it into Jump Force. The game’s roster now includes over 40 characters from manga like Bleach, Dragon Ball, and My Hero Academia.
Jotaro Kujo is the third “JoJo” in the series, appearing as the protagonist in Stardust Crusaders and several other story arcs. His default look in Jump Force is based on his outfit in Stardust Crusaders, the third arc in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. Jotaro is the first JoJo with a Stand, his being the powerful Star Platinum.
Dio Brando is the main antagonist throughout JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure, appearing in the very first issue and throughout the series. His Jump Force appearance is also closely based on his appearance in Stardust Crusaders, alongside Jotaro. His Stand, The World is a towering humanoid figure with a muscular build.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, to outsiders, is exactly that — bizarre. In Jump Force, the two seem to be able to summon their Stands to fight alongside them, although how they work is still unclear. Stands are supernatural beings created by Stand Users such as Jotaro and Dio. Stands possess abilities beyond that of ordinary humans and often have unique abilities. Different Stands have different fighting styles, with both Dio and Jotaro’s being classified as close-range Stands. Dio’s The World has a signature ability called Time Stop, allowing just Dio and his Stand to continue moving.
