Anthem chain letter Easter egg pokes fun at junk email

“Might Valor Resolve” begins the message, a tame enough introduction. It concludes “DO NOT IGNORE IT. IT WORKS!” The stern warning closes off an Anthem chain letter you’ll discover when exploring the game’s player mailbox. BioWare takes a swing at junk emails in this silly Easter egg for eagle-eyed players. You can read the entire chain letter below:

Anthem chain letter

The Anthem chain letter urges readers not to break the chain and includes all the other trademarks of a good email scam. The email provides you with a range of confusing qualifiers regarding when you need to forward the message by and how many times it needs to be sent. The chain letter doesn’t define great rewards will come to you should you succumb to its demands. However, it does sprinkle in some Anthem-related context when explaining what has happened to others who have come across the letter, good or fatal.

The email is a welcome attempt at some humor from BioWare, who made a last-ditch attempt to grab potential Anthem players with a fairly bleak trailer/short film/thing yesterday. The short called “Conviction” was created by director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium, Chappie) and introduced a character named Kali.

Anthem’s pre-launch hasn’t been completely smooth sailing. When playing the demo, many users complained of bugs. However, BioWare lead producer Mike Gamble stated that he welcomed the feedback as they would now be able to fix the issues. The lead producer also countered that he’d received positive feedback regarding the “moment-to-moment” gameplay of Anthem.

We’ll soon know whether BioWare’s pre-launch tactics worked now that Anthem has officially launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For those who pre-ordered the game, here’s how you can claim your pre-order bonuses. Unfortunately, some in Anthem have been experiencing a matchmaking error stating “No Server Found”, we’ve got a fix for that too.
