If you’re looking to invest in the future of PlayStation, you might just get a blast from the past to go with it. If you have interest in it, of course. Best Buy is issuing a free PlayStation Classic with the purchase of a PS4 Pro.
The deal is available here and should last for a few more hours. It’s the latest attempt by the retailer to get the troubled all-in-one system in the hands of consumers. The PlayStation Classic launched last year after a surprise announcement over the summer. However, it hasn’t really fared that well, with many critics noting its poor emulation and game selection. Since that time, it’s fallen in price more than 50 percent, going down from $99.99 to $39.99. Some stores even have had it as cheap as $30.
That’s not to say the system doesn’t have value. There are those out there that have creatively found a way to hack it with more games. This includes titles like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Crash Bandicoot. Obviously, these didn’t make it in the official line-up, mainly due to expired licenses.
However, if you’re not crazy about the PlayStation Classic, you don’t have to go with it. Deal finder Wario64 recently noted on Twitter that you can remove the item from your shopping cart. You know, in case you hate free things.

Again, this special will only go on for a few more hours. So if you are curious about the PlayStation Classic, or just need something for the kids to play while you enjoy God of War, then jump in. Some stores will even have the items ready for pick-up today, depending on stock.
