New Grid coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC

New Grid announced for PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Codemasters has just announced a new Grid game for modern platforms. Simply called Grid, the new game races to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this September.

The new Grid represents the fourth game in the series, following up on 2014’s Grid Autosport.  The series itself actually traces its roots to Codemasters’s TOCA franchise based of the motorsport organization of the same name.

The game will feature 70 iconic sports and race cars divided into six classes. Each of these classes represents a certain discipline, or subcategory of motor racing, such as stock cars and GT cars.

Players will get to race these ultimate speed machines through a number of courses set in 12 real-world locations. This includes a number of iconic race tracks as well as road courses set in beautiful cities around the globe.

Prospective racers will get to challenge themselves in one of six career paths. The most challenging of these paths is the Fernando Alonso Challenge, named after the two-time Formula 1 World Champion and 24 Hours of Le Mans winner. Here, players much complete a number of challenges to earn the right to race against the man himself.

The new Grid launches on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 13. However, an Ultimate Edition for the game launches three days earlier on September 10.

In addition to arriving earlier, the Ultimate Edition gives players access to a number of exclusives. This includes access to three seasons of extra content, players cards and banners, as well as a number of exclusive cars. The cars include the Porche 911 RSR as well as special Grid editions of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, Pontiac Firebird Modified, Chevrolet Corvette C7.R, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI Time Attack, and Renault R26 Formula 1 car. Finally, players who purchase the Ultimate Edition will also be given VIP Status in the game.

Of course, this isn’t the only Grid game being released this year. Nintendo Switch owners will also be getting a port of Grid Autosport sometime in the 3rd quarter of 2019.
