Hearthstone Global Finals will be held at BlizzCon

Where does any big event happen? Well, on the biggest stage possible, of course. For Blizzard esports, that stage is always at BlizzCon. The Hearthstone Grand Finals will take the stage this November at the Anaheim Convention Center in California where just one player will take home the title of World Champion, as well as a cash prize from the $500,000 pool.

The Hearthstone Grand Finals will consist of eight players. At both the Season 1 and 2 Playoffs, a player from each region (Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe) will get their chance to qualify. The final two qualifying players will be named at China’s Gold Open Series Playoffs, which will be held later this month, on July 20, as well as October 6.

The Hearthstone Grandmaster Season 1 Playoffs begin this week, between July 12 to July 14. You’ll be able to catch all the action on the Hearthstone Twitch channel.

Those who decide to watch may get a few free Hearthstone packs thanks to Twitch Drops. For watching three hours of the Season 1 Playoffs, you’ll earn one Rise of Shadows pack; you’ll earn another pack by watching a total of six hours. Additionally, 1,500 Classic Card Packs will be randomly distributed every hour to viewers, even to those who decide to pop in for a couple of minutes. To be eligible, all you have to do is link your Battle.net account to your Twitch account.

Just last week, Blizzard announced the next expansion for Hearthstone would be launching on August 6, 2019. Like the expansions before it, Saviors of Uldum will bring 135 brand new cards, new keywords, and a new solo adventure to the game. It is available to pre-purchase right now.

Leading up to the aforementioned expansion, the latest patch for Hearthstone toned down some of the sexuality and violence of the art on some of the classic cards causing a bit of controversy.
