Dota fans may have noticed that Dota Underlords, Valve’s new autobattler spin-off, doesn’t have quite the same roster as the MOBA it’s based on. This may be changing soon, a recent Dota Underlords datamine hints that more heroes will be added to the game.
A new video from the unofficial Valve News Network goes through a number of things found in the game’s latest patch. Here, host Tyler McVicker points out a number of references, skins, and even complete models for heroes not yet in Dota Underlords.

The 16 heroes found in the files include Chen, Clinkz, Dark Seer, Dazzle, Earthshaker, Pangolier, Riki, Rubick, Spectre, Storm Spirit, Sven, Undying, Vengeful Spirit, Weaver, and Zeus. The files also hint that some may be added sooner than others. Most notably, Storm Spirit seems to be closes to being added. Both a model and skin exist for the hero in the current files.
Aside from the heroes, the datamine also teases other features being added to Dota Underlords in the future. It seems that the game will be getting a proper replay feature sometime soon. Additionally, the datamine also hints at a “Turbo mode.” This seems to be a sped up version of the game that lets players amass units much more quickly.
Finally, the datamine hints at the titular Underlords as well even if it doesn’t give any indication of how these will integrate into the game. However, McVicker speculated that Valve might replace the couriers that have been carried over from the original Dota Auto Chess mod.
Of course, even without the new heroes, Dota Underlords players still have much to do. The game’s first “Proto Pass” is coming this week, allowing players to give Valve feedback on what they’d like to see in a proper battle pass once the game leaves early access.
