Stan Lee Way might be the name of a future New York City street

Earlier this year, one of Hollywood’s most iconic men passed away. Stan Lee was mostly known for his contributions to the Marvel Universe, as the creator of a lot of the characters that we have come to know and love. Unfortunately, Lee passed away before he could see the Marvel Universe come to fruition with the release of Avengers: Endgame, but the impact that Lee left behind still lives on today. For that reason, some folks in New York City are pushing for a new street to be added to the city: Stan Lee Way.

Stan Lee Way

Lee grew up in the Bronx, and the locals couldn’t think of a better way to honor him than to name a street after him in the area where he grew up. Stan Lee Way would potentially be located on University Avenue. The street would not be renamed, but instead share a name with the Marvel Comics legend. The New York Post reports that the bill is currently sitting on the Mayor’s desk, waiting for the final stamp of approval.

Lee, along with others, had a big hand in turning Marvel Comics into what it is today. Lee is responsible for the creation of characters like Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Nick Fury, and Ant-Man, among others. He is also well known for his cameo appearance in every Marvel movie leading up to Ant-Man and the Wasp. After passing, he was added into both Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame with the help of CGI.

Spider-Man: Far From Home was the first Marvel movie to not feature a Stan Lee cameo; however, his legacy is far from gone. His creations will live on for a long time to come, bringing smiles to the face of everyone who sees them and showing the world that anybody can be a superhero. Excelsior!
