The Witcher Netflix start date

The Witcher Netflix start date rumor is false, “producer” doesn’t work for Netflix

For any fans of The Witcher books or videogames, the upcoming Netflix TV adaptation is one of the most eagerly anticipated shows around. While we got a trailer for the upcoming Netflix series earlier this year, it did not come with a release date for the show. Earlier this week, however, we finally received word from someone claiming to be an executive producer at Netflix, saying that The Witcher Netflix start date was most likely either November 1 or even October. Unfortunately, this now appears to be false as Netflix has said that this person doesn’t work for them.

Giovanni Eūgene Altamarquéz, who claimed he had been working with Netflix for more than five years, took to Twitter earlier this week to say that “it was confirmed during an earnings call that series will launch in Oct.” However, fan site TheWitcher.tv reached out to Netflix about what Altamarquéz claimed, and Netflix told them this “executive producer” was nothing of the sort. “He does not appear to be a Netflix staff member, freelancer, or contractor” the site adds.

The Twitter account belonging to Giovanni Eūgene Altamarquéz has since been deleted. Netflix also reached out to Reddit page r/television, who had a thread about the supposed start date for The Witcher Netflix TV show. It said, “this news is confirmed as being false.” The moderators then explained why they were leaving the thread active rather than closing it, adding that “given the spread of this article already, we feel that leaving it up and tagging it is the best way to let people know about it being fake.”

So, unfortunately, we’ve still got a bit of a wait until we get to find out when The Witcher TV series is going to launch on Netflix. We don’t expect to have to wait that much longer, however.
