The Witcher release date unintentionally leaked by Netflix

As days go by and the end of the year is drawing near, we’re yet to get an official announcement on Netflix’s The Witcher release date. However, apparently the date has leaked from Netflix itself, with the Netherlands branch posting a countdown for several shows on its official Facebook and Twitter accounts. The social media posts have since been removed, but not before someone captured the details for posterity.

The Witcher release date remains scheduled for Q4 2019, so fans of CD Projekt’s RPG series and Andrzej Sapkowski’s saga won’t have to wait much longer. According to Netflix’s social media posts (via Comicbook/Redanian Intelligence), the fantasy television show is going to premiere on December 17, 2019.

The official Netflix Netherlands social media accounts where the posts were made are @NetflixNetherlands on Facebook and @NetflixNL on Twitter. However, the messages were promptly deleted.

Dating from yesterday, September 11, the posts mentioned that The Witcher release date is just 97 days away, so you can mark the date on your calendars. Despite the strong evidence, this doesn’t equal to an official announcement, and considering that the post was removed, it may or not may turn out to be the definite date.

Either way, this is much more reliable information than the one previously shared by an alleged The Witcher executive producer. As it turns out, this producer wasn’t a Netflix staff member of any sort, and so the rumor was debunked.

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, the infamous monster slayer. The upcoming Netflix show is eagerly anticipated by many fans of the books, but the story of Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, and others shot to fame all over the world thanks to the high quality of CD Projekt’s acclaimed games.

Hopefully the Netflix show will live up to the hype. Maybe we’ll be able to confirm that starting December 17, 2019.The Witcher release date
