A Mount and Blade 2 Lord of the Rings mod is already in the works for Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord—and the game hasn’t even been released yet. The modding scene for the previous title Mount and Blade: Warband was pretty robust, and it seems that these same inventive people are so keen on creating original content for the sequel that they’ve gotten started before the game has even launched.
GameWatcher reports that the Silmarillion – Of Hurin mod has popped up on ModDB, a website that’s a known repository for video game mods. Developed by the mod team Dreamy Folk, this isn’t their first project—they already have five mods under their belt and many of them were for the franchise’s previous game Mount and Blade: Warband.

Tolkien, Children of Hurin, Fall of Gondolin, Beren & Luthien and Silmarillion. Project will feature events, characters and locations from the lore of Silmarillion.
It is being developed by Dreamy Folk and recruitments are open to those who are willing to join the development team! Feel free to contact Efe Karacar or join us through discord!
[The mod] will also feature the entire world book takes place in and will feature unique gameplay mechanics, creatures and races alike.
Plenty of games are enhanced by modding, but it’s pretty rare to see a game getting modded before it’s even released. You can follow the progress of the Mount and Blade 2 Lord of the Rings mod over at the Silmarillion – Of Hurin mod page on ModDB. No release date for the mod has been announced, but Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord will be coming to Steam Early Access sometime in March 2020. In the meantime, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam.
