Red Dead Online photo mode comes to Xbox alongside RDR2 story mode additions

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 is just a few months past its one year anniversary already, which is good news to Xbox owners. As is tradition, the exclusivity window is up and players on the green team can experience a load of bonus missions and other goodies once locked up behind a marketing deal. The most significant of these additions is the Red Dead Redemption 2 Photo Mode, something that is pretty much standard in most big games nowadays. You’ll be able to snap screenshots of your gameplay with all sorts of filters and no hints of UI, perfect for desktop wallpaper creation.

In addition to Red Dead Redemption 2 Photo Mode, gamers on Xbox also gain access to the following content in story mode.

  • 3 Story Mode Bounty Hunter Missions
  • 2 Story Mode Gang Hideouts
  • 2 Story Mode Treasure Maps
  • “To The Ends of The Earth” Mission
  • 4 Weapons
  • 7 Horse Breeds
  • 5 Hidden Trinkets

What’s new in Red Dead Online alongside Beaver Hollow Hideout?

Gamers already enjoying the full experience on PlayStation 4, PC, and/or Stadia needn’t fret, Rockstar hasn’t left you out in the snow. This update also contains plenty of new items for Red Dead Online. The biggest addition here is a new area, the Beaver Hollow Hideout, which Rockstar notates as the home of the notorious Murfree Brood. You can take on said brood using any of these new apparel items and taunt them with a bunch of new emotes.

Apparel:

  • Salizzo Double Bandolier
  • Rulfo Boots
  • Starrett Hat
  • Gordillo Half-Chaps

Emotes:

  • Hat Flick
  • Howl
  • Jovial Laugh
  • Subtle Wave
  • You vs Me

The update also adds 30% discounts on weapon barrels and sights, as well as all scope and stock upgrades. If you’re digging into Red Dead Online for the first time, you can nab 30% off a weapon if you hit Level 10 before January 27th. In the same time frame, you’ll get 30% off a horse if you reach Level 20. Twitch Prime members get a general 10% discount to add on top of all these other savings, as well as a free Collector’s Bag and Polished Copper Moonshine Still. So, load up the Red Dead Redemption 2 photo mode and take some pictures of your exclusive alcohol-brewing doohicky. You’ll be the talk of the saloon.
