Stardew Valley 1.5 update is coming, ConcernedApe confirms

The Stardew Valley 1.5 update is on its way, creator Eric Barone (a.k.a. ConcernedApe) has confirmed. The free content update is currently in the works, with Barone developing it now that the game’s 1.4 update has rolled out on all platforms.

Barone has steadily introduced free content updates to Stardew Valley, with him hiring a small development team in 2019 consisting of Arthur Lee (a.k.a. Mr. Podunkian) and Alex Erlandson (a.k.a. zillix) to help him produce the DLC. Barone had previously created Stardew Valley and all of its subsequent content by himself.

“Thanks everyone for the Stardew Valley 4-year anniversary wishes,” Barone tweeted. “It’s been a pleasure, and I look forward to another great year! Now that 1.4 is out on all intended platforms, I’d like to announce that there will be another free content update (1.5)..it’s currently in the works!”

Barone didn’t say what would be included in the update, but he did say that there would be “lots of new content” for players to enjoy. He also responded to a request for split-screen multiplayer to be added, saying that technical limitations would likely prevent it from happening.

Stardew Valley 1.5 update release date

There’s no word on when the Stardew Valley 1.5 update release date will be. Eric Barone continues to lead a small team, meaning that it likely won’t be a swift turnaround. A variety of new additions were added to the game in its 1.4 update, included a bunch of new items, objectives, and even a movie theater, so players should expect a similarly robust offering this time around, considering Barone’s comments.

With 1.4 only released back in November 2019, don’t hold your breath for a swift launch of its 1.5 update, as players will likely be left waiting a while for this new patch to come to fruition.
