Release dates for the PS5 and Xbox Series X have been hinted at by Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red in an investor call, with the company confirming that the game will run on next-gen consoles and that it will release roughly the same time as the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
The comments were made in a call today, with CD Projekt Red confirming that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will look better when played on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and that current-gen versions will be playable on next-gen.

CD Projekt Red also revealed that it expects next-gen consoles to release around the same time as Cyberpunk 2077. Yesterday, the company announced that the RPG would be delayed until November 19. This suggests that either the PS5 or Xbox could launch on November 20, 2020, and that both consoles will launch around this date.

Elsewhere in the investor call, CD Projekt Red stated that PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Cyberpunk 2077 were in the works, though these versions of the game are planned for 2021. According to the studio, this will be a “more robust update” and will be available to owners of the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game for free.
CD Projekt Red also added that the multiplayer version of the game will face delays in line with the delay of the base game, so the wait of Cyberpunk 2077‘s multiplayer component will be proportionate to its latest delay.
It was heavily speculated that the PS5 and Xbox Series X would launch in November given their previous Holiday 2020 launch windows, though CD Projekt Red’s comments all but confirm this will be the case. While fans will be waiting a while longer to get their hands on the Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X port, at least players will be able to enjoy the current-gen version on next-gen consoles while they wait.
