Today’s a big day for Microsoft and the Xbox Series X launch games are already being announced: the Gears Tactics Xbox Series X release date has been revealed and it will be ready to play on day one.
Gears of War is a long-running franchise on Xbox consoles, but Gears Tactics mixes things up a bit. Players control a small squad of Gears in turn-based battles, carefully positioning themselves behind cover tactically taking down their enemies. Now, this intriguing spinoff is coming to the Xbox Series X.
When is the Gears Tactics Xbox Series X release date? Gears Tactics will come to the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on November 10, 2020. No price has been announced, but it will probably cost the same as it does on PC right now: $59.99.
Several questions still remain. This game is already available on PC; will this be an Xbox Play Anywhere title? We can’t say for sure, but Gears Tactics (and every other Gears of War title) is available via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. That means you’ll be able to play it as part of your subscription if you get an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.
Previous games in the Gears of War franchise have built upon the continuing story of the war against the Locust Horde. Gears Tactics, however, is a prequel set 12 years before the very first Gears of War game that first launched back in 2006. You won’t quite get to play as the iconic Marcus Fenix, but you’ll still be able to immerse yourself in the fantastic world of Sera.
