We’re not too far away from the upcoming release of Resident Evil Village. The latest entry in the classic survival horror series is soon to launch for all platforms, but PS5 owners are being treated to an exclusive demo available starting today. Announced during the recent RE showcase, the Resident Evil Village Maiden demo gives players an early glimpse of the game’s audio and visual design. Here’s a look at everything the demo is about and what you need to do to download it.
Resident Evil Village PS5 exclusive Maiden demo
In the first Resident Evil Village demo, players control a character known as the Maiden. Trapped in the lower recesses of the unsettling Dimitrescu Castle, the Maiden needs to find a way to make her escape. Without any combat whatsoever, this visual demo is meant to give players a taste of the full game’s audio and graphical potential.
Like with the early Resident Evil 7 demo, the Maiden demo is presented as a standalone experience. The journey and escape of the Maiden is separate from that of Ethan, and according to producer Peter Fabiano, takes places in an entirely separate timeline.
The demo also happens to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive. If you want to experience the game’s atmosphere for yourself, you’ll have to do so on Sony’s current-gen console. Thankfully, the developers promised that an entirely separate Resident Evil Village demo will appear later this year in the spring. Chances are good that one will finally give us a taste of the game’s combat.
Eager to check out the Maiden demo for yourself? Here’s what you need to do.
