GTA NAT type glitch patch

GTA 5 NAT type glitch patch gives griefers the upper hand

The latest GTA 5 patch has made a controversial change to Grand Theft Auto Online. Rockstar Games’ multiplayer moneymaker has always had a griefer problem, which led honest players to come up with a workaround. This involved intentionally changing NAT type to inhibit online interactions, allowing users to enter solo public lobbies. Now, however, a new GTA NAT type glitch patch has removed the makeshift solution and given griefers the upper hand.

GTA NAT Type Glitch Patched: Can players still enter solo public lobbies?

Grand Theft Auto V’s multiplayer mode, GTA Online, has endured for years despite constant in-game harassment from griefers. Up until now, however, players have been able to escape bad eggs by performing the NAT exploit and hosting their very own public lobby. In essence, these public lobbies would function like private lobbies without the associated limitations of invite-only online play.

Of course, it’s still possible to play solo in a private GTA Online multiplayer lobby. It is no longer possible to play alone in public lobbies, though. After installing the latest Grand Theft Auto 5 patch, users are no longer able to do the NAT type glitch to avoid griefers. At the time of writing, there is no new workaround to avoid grief from random players in GTA V.

Although the GTA NAT glitch was seemingly innocent, it’s possible that exploiting public lobbies was a cause of undue stress to the multiplayer servers. Rockstar likely never intended to host lots of public servers with individual players, so it was perhaps only ever a matter of time until the Grand Theft Auto NAT glitch update.

Regardless of the reasoning, many GTA Online fans aren’t happy. With some users threatening to stop playing, this saga may not be over yet.

A recent GTA V weekly update added the Nightshark as a podium vehicle.

Elsewhere in the world of gaming, Animal Crossing now has farts and a Fortnite x Dark Souls collab could be on the way.
