Forza Horizon 5 lets you choose your pronouns, adds prosthetic limbs and more cosmetic options

Forza Horizon 5 is greatly improving its character customization options, letting players choose their own pronouns, select prosthetic limbs, and choose from other customization options such as changing their hairstyle and color.

The changes were announced via the official Forza Motorsport site, with developer Playground Games revealing the character customizer improvements that had been added to the sequel. Playground noted that its character customization options had been “improved to provide players with a more diverse cast of selectable characters.”

Playground added: “New customization options include the ability to customize hair style and color, select prosthetic limbs, choose pronouns, select from different voices and the ability to purchase clothing with credits.”

While Forza Horizon’s cars are understandably the focal point of its presentation, in Forza Horizon 4 players were offered a suite of character customization options with different outfits and items being unlockable via rewards. These characters were then viewable in pre- and post-race screens, with there being a surprising number of changes you could make to your Drivatar.

It seems that Forza Horizon 5 will bring these Drivatars into the focus even more, allowing players to personalize their created characters to an impressive degree. Letting players use credits to unlock new customization options also opens up a new method of obtaining clothing items, which were previously locked behind randomized Wheelspins. However, this does also open up a whole new avenue for microtransactions, which Forza Horizon has historically employed to an expensive degree.

In other news, Forza Horizon 5 isn’t the only game to improve player customization, as 343 Industries revealed the cosmetic options for Halo Infinite’s multiplayer. Also, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s artist revealed that they intentionally made Rivet “beefier”  than Ratchet in the PS5 exclusive.
