Scarlet Nexus is coming to Xbox Game Pass, TGS 2021 reveals

Scarlet Nexus has been revealed for the Xbox Game Pass service, with the announcement being made during Tokyo Game Show 2021. The acclaimed JRPG is making its way to the subscription-based service, which grants players access to an abundance of games for a monthly charge. It was also revealed that new DLC is on its way.

When is the Scarlet Nexus Xbox Game Pass release date?

Scarlet Nexus will be made available on Xbox Game Pass in Japan today, September 30, 2021. The announcement was made during Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2021 presentation, with it being evidence of another big step into the Japanese gaming market for Microsoft, which has notoriously struggled with sales in the region.

It’s unclear if this means that Scarlet Nexus will also launch on Game Pass in the West today, or if this announcement will be saved for a later date. However, with it being made available for the service in Japan, it seems an inevitability that the U.S. version of Game Pass will receive it, too.

Along with the Game Pass announcement, it was also revealed that a new DLC update is on its way featuring new bonding episodes along with new costumes. The update will be a free addition to the game, and will therefore also be available via Game Pass.

Previously, Bandai Namco shot down rumors that Scarlet Nexus would be coming to Game Pass. “We have no plans to bring Scarlet Nexus to Xbox Game Pass at this time and are excited about its launch on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on June 25,” the company said before its launch in a statement.

But it seems that plans have changed, with Scarlet Nexus set to launch on Game Pass today and being made available to play for the service’s Japanese subscribers.

In other news, a big-budget GI Joe game was recently revealed. Actraiser Renaissance was also revealed, though Chrono Trigger was sadly overlooked once again.
