Rumored Fallout 4 Casting Pages Reveal Locations, Game Intro, Characters, More

The next Fallout title remains a mystery and the people developing the game haven't even announced the follow up to 2010's Fallout: New Vegas, but that hasn't stopped the internet from lumbering forward with the hype train, recently derailed by a nefarious hoax.

Yes, TheSurvivor2299 teaser site that got Fallout fans riled up for this past weekend's VGX stream was revealed to be fake, but now Kotaku is reporting that one of their readers sent in script pages for the next Fallout game, even though Fallout's name isn't printed on the script.

Despite the project's working title "Institute" and the rumors that Fallout 4 would take place in Boston, I'm still wary of promoting the latest details as fact. First, Kotaku might have just bitten down hard on another hoax, like the did with TheSurvivor2299. Second, these pages spoil a bunch of key moments in the next Fallout game!

If you want to believe the next Fallout game is on its way, but don't want details spoiled, no matter how small, then jump to our comments section below to decry or support this latest Fallout-themed development.

Spoiler details below in handy-dandy bulleted list format:

  • The latest leak supports Fallout 4's Boston setting.
  • The game's first spoken dialog is "War. War never changes" which is exactly how the three previous mainline Fallout games have started.
  • Players will visit the Institute, or the Fallout-ified post-apocalyptic remains of Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
  • One character named Preston Garvey will give players a quest that involves salvaging a fusion core from within the Commonwealth.
  • One of the radio DJs is named Travis Miles, while another character named Sturges is described as "a cross between Buddy Holly and Vin Diesel."
  • You'll be able to choose between male and female protagonists, but the player apparently begins the game in a cryogenic chamber.

Look, I'm excited for Fallout 4 too, if that's what the game is even called, but I think after a wildly complex fake website, I'm leaving these script pages firmly in rumor territory. Who knows how long it might take Bethesda to prepare their next massive RPG for next-gen consoles?
