Is The Batman 2 movie release date already planned? In a new interview, The Batman 2022 director Matt Reeves confirms that there are lots of things “in the works” in the new DC universe he has created, which will probably include a Batman Robert Pattinson sequel and several spin-offs as previously leaked. Aside from a The Batman sequel, a Catwoman movie or HBO Max series, and shows based on The Penguin and GCPD may be on the way, too.

According to a new interview between The Batman director Matt Reeves and Esquire, a number of projects are being planned to follow on from the movie, which releases in just over a month’s time. When prompted about a sequel and the various rumored spin-off projects, such as Catwoman, Gotham PD, and Penguin, Reeves replied, “it will obviously have a lot to do with how people receive this film, but a lot of things are in the works.”
“A lot of things” certainly suggests a lot more than just one sequel. There are a number of rumors already for The Batman 2, including the possibility that either The Joker or The Mad Hatter may be the villain. Beyond that, it’s been pretty much confirmed that probable HBO spin-off shows or projects based on the likes of Penguin (Colin Farrell), Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz), and the GCPD are on the way. Reeves wouldn’t confirm any of these, but it certainly sounds confirmed that these projects — including a sequel — are on the way, and fans hope so too.

It is very likely that The Batman sequel will release in theaters around March 2025.
Most comic book movies release their sequels three years later — Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984, for example, released three years apart, as did the Captain America movies and Matt Reeves’ Planet of the Apes prequels.
