The Witcher Season 3 Henry Cavill Returning

Henry Cavill Returning for The Witcher Season 3, Plot Summary Revealed

Netflix has revealed the first picture of the production for the upcoming The Witcher series, and it shows Henry Cavill returning for The Witcher season 3 as Geralt of Rivia. This also confirms that the next season is well on its way, though there is yet to be a release date of when it will be returning.

Will Ciri and Yennefer return for The Witcher Season 3?

In front of a vague, snowy backdrop with an evergreen forest in the background, the three main leads — Geralt (Henry Cavill), Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (Freya Allen) — wait in black production chairs for the next shot. This shot of the first very day of production from the tweet above also has a horse standing precariously close to what seems to be a frozen lake.

That said, the locale is not terrible surprising given that this wouldn’t be the first time Ciri would have to traverse the slippery surface of a lake in The Witcher Netflix series. (Some spoilers, ahead!)

A plot summary was also posted in a tweet by the official Witcher account, detailing how Yennefer must lead Geralt and Ciri to the fortress of Aretuza. There, they hope to protect Ciri from “monarchs, mages, and beasts” and learn more about her inherited magical powers. The bonds between the members of this newly-formed family will need to battle “political corruption, dark magic, and treachery” if they want to stay together and survive.

It’s unclear how long The Witcher Netflix series will run after season 3, though there is still some content to go through from the books and the games. The next Witcher game has been announced with a picture of a lynx medallion with glowing, red eyes half-buried in the snow.

In other news, Xbox Game Pass is rumored to be getting family-sharing options, and E3 2022 has been thoroughly cancelled, both for its in-person showcase and digital event.
