Horizon Forbidden West 1.12 Update

Horizon Forbidden West 1.12 Update Finally Lets Aloy Out of the Bathroom

Like a formidable machine, developer Guerrilla Games has released another patch for Aloy’s latest adventure with the Horizon Forbidden West 1.12 update. This particular patch hones in on fixing glitches, making sure quest progression remains intact, and one particular issue where Aloy can get stuck in the bathroom. The developer also acknowledges and reaffirms several known issues with the game that it will continue to address in future updates.

What does Horizon Forbidden West 1.12 update fix?

Approximately 900 MB in size, the Horizon Forbidden West 1.12 update has its full patch notes available on Reddit. At the top of the list for fixes and improvements, the patch ensures that Aloy will no longer get stuck in the bathroom near the sleeping bunk area at the base.

Fans reacting to the patch notes on Reddit, apart from very vocally wanting a New Game Plus mode, are particularly grateful for the quality-of-life improvement that adds an indicator for when Aloy already has a Weave equipped. A few who dislike constant notifications also appreciate the fix that finally clears the exclamation point from new items after they have been acquired.

That said, Guerrilla Games reassures its community that they are aware of multiple issues that this patch unfortunately does not address. In particular, the infamous shimmering issues in the game have been placed back as a bullet point in “known issues,” suggesting that this visual imperfection is far more difficult to change than originally perceived.

The developer also acknowledges an issue with the vendor Abadund who Aloy is sometimes unable to trade with, effectively locking his wares from play. Worse, this bug notoriously appears after the main storyline has already been completed. Guerrilla Games is also aware that the Apex Grimhorn sometimes does not spawn outside of quests, which can prevent players from reaching 100% game completion. With luck, both of these issues will be addressed in future patches.

In other news, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulators have been leaked for Nintendo Switch, and a new Star Wars game is in development at Amy Hennig’s Skydance New Media.
