Ubisoft+ Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft Seemingly Confirms Ubisoft+ Will Soon Be Part of Xbox Game Pass

Back in January, Ubisoft announced it would be bringing its Ubisoft+ subscription service to Xbox Game Pass on consoles and PC. At the time they said to stay tuned to the Ubisoft News Hub for more information, but we’ve heard nothing since. However, a casual note that is part of the latest Xbox Insider update seems to suggest the service may be coming sooner rather than later.

Ubisoft+ will be a part of Xbox Game Pass

PC Game Pass

The note was part of the first May update for the Xbox App for Windows preview. As a new feature, the update “improved search results for all PC Game Pass titles, including ones from EA Play and Ubisoft”. There is just a single Ubisoft game on PC Game Pass at the moment in the form of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, and I highly doubt the note refers to that game in particular. More likely, the note is hinting at the imminent arrival of Ubisoft+ as part of PC Game Pass.

Ubisoft+ currently offers more than 100 cloud games to be streamed on PC and other select devices. These include brand new Ubisoft titles available day one and premium editions that include season passes, DLC expansions, and other bonus content. Not only will Ubisoft+ be added to PC Game Pass, the service is also due to be implemented on Xbox consoles. We may even hear more about it during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12, although many players will be hoping the service arrives before then.

The update also fixed a couple of other issues players may have been having, including custom touch controls leaving players stranded in some cloud games. The narrator and screen reader have also been tweaked to make the app more accessible. Xbox App version 2205.1000.17.0 is available now.

In other news, Xbox Live services were down for much of the weekend, prompting players to question the console’s use of online DRM that prevented them from playing their games. Cloud gaming also suffered, which means those wanting to use Xbox Cloud Gaming to play Fortnite on Apple devices would also have been disappointed.
