Following reports that Bloober Team is working on a remake of Silent Hill 2, the CEO of the developer has declined to confirm whether the rumors are true. Piotr Babieno also revealed that the studio is working on three projects but wouldn’t go into detail about any of them, leaving fans guessing about what the company might release in the future.
Bloober Team leaves fans in the dark over Silent Hill 2 remake
Speaking in an interview with IGN, the chief executive explained that he cannot confirm the rumors about the Silent Hill 2 remake because it could affect how they work with other gaming companies. Babieno said in the interview that “we can’t comment on anything we are doing because we appreciate our relationship with our partners” but that the studio would “make an announcement about our future projects as soon as we can.”
However, the CEO did go on to reveal that Bloober Team is currently working on three games in total. One of these is a joint collaboration with Konami while another is a brand new IP that will be published by Private Division, a group that has previously helped release The Outer Worlds and Hades. The third project is currently in pre-production, although Babieno didn’t provide any other information about what this game might be.
Bloober Team is best known for producing a variety of horror-themed games. Over the last few years, they have released titles such as The Medium, Layers of Fear, and Observer. The studio’s expertise with horror games and the partnership it entered into with Konami in 2021 would seem to make the developer a perfect candidate for any potential Silent Hill 2 remake.
In other news, Microsoft has revealed the games leaving Xbox Game Pass this month, while Fall Guys is going free-to-play when it launches on Nintendo Switch and Xbox in June.
