Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 release date
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be released on October 28. Platforms weren’t confirmed but PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC are pretty guaranteed. It’s also incredibly likely the game will still come to PS4 and Xbox One considering the ongoing console shortages.
The campaign will focus on Task Force 141, a global squad of returning Operators that includes Captain John Price, Simon “Ghost” Riley, John “Soap” MacTavish, and Kyle “Gaz” Garrick. There’s also a brand new Operator in the form of Mexican Special Forces Colonel Alejandro Vargas. All of these faces can be seen in the above video that features the Long Beach dockyard and an empty container ship painted in several different pieces of artwork from the game.
Interestingly, there’s also a fleeting glimpse of a cryptic message on the side of a container that reads “J-8-22”. Previous rumors have said the game’s campaign and single-player content will be revealed fully on June 8, 2022, the day before Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest event is due to begin, so make sure to keep your eyes open on that day for a better look at what we can expect from this year’s Call of Duty outing. The multiplayer aspect of the game is expected to be revealed later in the year.
In other news, Ukraine will be getting its own Xbox Live regional accounts and Xbox Store, although Microsoft gave no indication to exactly when this will happen. Elsewhere, official parts and repair guides are available for the Steam Deck and Index VR headsets.
