Warzone 2 map

Full Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Map Has Reportedly Leaked

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releasing later this year, publisher Activision is planning on releasing a new Warzone map to freshen things up. In February, it was confirmed the new Warzone experience would run on a new engine and be led by Modern Warfare 2 (2022) developer Infinity Ward.

What are Warzone 2’s map locations?

Prominent leaker Tom Henderson via Try Hard Guides has revealed the full Warzone 2 map. This has been done through a drawing. The alleged Warzone 2 map features multiple points of interest known to the Modern Warfare franchise. These include Quarry, a Modern Warfare 2 (2009) multiplayer map, plus Airport — likely to be a reimaging of the popular Terminal map. Other locations on the map are:

All Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Map Locations

  • Oasis
  • War-Torn
  • Oilfield
  • Modern City
  • Hydro Station
  • Caves
  • Marshes
  • Mountain Town
  • Observatory
  • Old Town
  • Fish To Wn
  • Fort
  • Shipwreck
  • Graveyard
  • Sira
  • Harbor

On the map, there are large areas of water. Henderson says this is because Infinity Ward is adding a swimming mechanic to Warzone for the first time. The prominent leaker says he expects the new map to be bigger than both previous Warzone experiences, Verdansk and Caldera. Warzone 2’s map is also expected to share elements with DMZ, Modern Warfare 2’s rumored sandbox mode.

The leak reiterated that Warzone 2 is still in “active development,” and things are subject to change. Elements of this map may change or be removed entirely before we get our hands on Warzone 2 later this year.

In other news, the open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 seems to be heading to PS4 and PS5 first despite Microsoft’s impending acquisition of Activision. The Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake could have been an Xbox timed-exclusive, but the publisher turned it down to focus on new IPs.
