Early Jurassic World Dominion review reactions have been posted on Twitter, with critics providing their initial thoughts following screenings of the upcoming dinosaur flick. Unfortunately for Jurassic Park fans, many were left unimpressed by the final entry in the new trilogy.
Early Jurassic World Dominion reviews are damning
Critics have shared their thoughts on Jurassic World Dominion on Twitter, ahead of the film’s full embargo lifting later this week. While there has been some praise for the sequel, there has also been some damning criticisms of it, with Variety’s Courtney Howard branding it the “worst of the franchise,” emphasizing its “uninteresting and hollow stories.”
#JurassicWorldDominion = BAD. It ignores the premise it should’ve had from the start, instead synthetically engineering 2 entirely different, uninteresting & hollow stories that it struggles to connect. Some effects look polished, some ropey. Worst of the franchise. pic.twitter.com/0xbyUR6O9d

Gizmodo’s Germain Lussier had similar thoughts, branding it “so bad” and criticizing it for being “wildly repetitive” with dinosaurs that serve as “window dressing.” Not exactly good news for a movie about dinosaurs…
Truly, Jurassic World Dominion is bad. So bad. It’s too long, it’s wildly repetitive & the dinosaurs are window dressing for multiple uninteresting, unrelated stories. The actors do their best but its all just overindulgent & pointless. One of, if not the, worst in the franchise.

Similarly, Slash Film writer Matt Donato also called it the “worst movie” in the franchise, adding that it’s “too bloated” though also had some fun “nostalgia beats.”
My gut reaction after walking out of #JurassicWorldDominion is that’s the worst movie in a franchise I adore. It’s too long, action sequences are downright ugly, and overall wayyyy too bloated. Then again, I smiled at nostalgia beats and baby dinos so like, that too? pic.twitter.com/BA1J4uFOMD

But there was praise for the film among the many complaints. Fandango’s Erik Davis called it his “favorite film of the new Jurassic trilogy” and praised its inventiveness along while honoring the originals:
GOOD NEWS: #JurassicWorldDominion is my favorite film of the new Jurassic trilogy. It’s stuffed w/ thrilling dinosaur encounters & lots more Jeff Goldblum, but it’s also got a great balance of creepy & inventive scenarios w/ some choice nods to what came before. A solid finale. pic.twitter.com/G6bMCDUecL

Collider’s Perri Nemiroff noted that there’s an “excellent mix of practical and digital effects” along with hinting to a particular scene with the Dimetrodon…
#JurassicWorldDominion rocks an excellent mix of practical & digital effects. Dinos look GREAT. Dimetrodon scene is … right up my alley. Bryce Dallas Howard runs away with the movie — & new trilogy for that matter. Claire experiences one heck of an arc & Howard soars with it. pic.twitter.com/5qWYkddi9e

Jurassic World Dominion is the long-awaited final film in the Jurassic World trilogy, which will also mark the return of Sam Neill and Laura Dern to their roles, along with Jeff Goldblum following his brief appearance in Fallen Kingdom. Dominion depicts a world where Jurassic World’s dinosaur inhabitants have made their way to populated lands, with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s characters working with the trio from the Jurassic Park trilogy to deal with this new threat.
In other news, a new horror game from Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima has reportedly been leaked. Blizzard has also responded to criticisms surrounding Diablo Immortal’s microtransactions.
