The Marvel panel brought with it many surprises at D23 Expo, and one of the biggest was the official trailer and release date confirmation for their upcoming Disney Plus original, Werewolf by Night. Bringing a classic horror vibe into the MCU for the first time, it is far and away beyond anything fans have experienced from Marvel Studios so far.

Set to make its debut on October 7, 2022, exclusive to Disney Plus, Werewolf by Night is perhaps one of the most unique MCU projects to-date. This first trailer offers a glimpse into some of the chaotic horror that audiences will witness when it premieres, with Gael Garcia Bernal and Laura Donnelly leading the cast. Michael Giacchino has now also been confirmed as the special’s director, having worked within the MCU as a composer since the first Iron Man movie back in 2008.
Described by Giacchino as “fun scary” at D23 Expo, the special will also feature characters familiar to fans of Marvel Comics, including Man-Thing who you can briefly see in the teaser. Bernal is expected to play Jack, a man who struggles to protect both those he loves and himself, after becoming the new Werewolf by Night.
