Skull and Bones has been delayed by Ubisoft, with the publisher revealing the new release date for the upcoming game, along with details about its open beta.
When is the new Skull and Bones release date?
Skull and Bones will now be released on March 9, 2023, on Xbox Series X and S, PS5, Stadia, Amazon Luna, and PC via the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store.
This means that the game has been pushed back four months from its previous November 8, 2022 release date. Ubisoft confirmed that an open beta would be held ahead of its worldwide launch
Why has Skull and Bones been delayed?
According to a press release from Ubisoft, Skull and Bones has been delayed in order to “further polish and balance the experience,” using player feedback from recent technical tests held over the last two weeks. Ubisoft notes that development on the game is finished at this stage, though this extra polish “is the right decision both for our players and for the long-term success of the game.”
Skull and Bones has been delayed a number of times, having first been scheduled for a 2018 release, then being rebooted in 2020 before this latest delay. Hopefully, it will be able to stick to this new date and launch next year.
