PlayStation 4 Sales Surpass 6 Million

Sony has announced that PlayStation 4 console sales have now surpassed the 6 million mark, just four months after its launch.

Before the system hit store shelves in Japan late last month, sales hovered just over 5.3 million. Now that PlayStation 4 is readily available in its home country, it has helped to bolster that figure over the aforementioned 6 million figure. Impressive indeed.

As it stands, Sony's console is currently available in a total of 57 countries, with a whopping 13.7 million in software sales worldwide. In addition, PlayStation 4's streaming functionality has proven to be a very popular feature, with over 3.6 million gameplay broadcasts having been streamed since launch.

Sony is certainly off to an incredible start this go around. Do you think either Microsoft or Nintendo stand a chance of catching up this generation?
