The folks over at Nintendo have released a new trailer for Mario Kart 8, highlighting the new courses and items that will be included in this Wii U-exclusive racer. Give it a look above and try not to drool all over your keyboard.
In addition, the game's director, Mr. Kosuke Yabuki, has confirmed that MK8 will feature a much more robust suite of item customization options, allowing the player to fine tune the experience to his/her liking.
"There was some item customization in Mario Kart 7, in that you could choose to have a mushroom-only race or shell-only race. We're going to have that plus a little bit more, actually, in Mario Kart 8," he explained during a roundtable interview at GDC.
Yabuki went on to add, "I think we're going to be able to answer that feeling of, 'I don't want to race with items.' Well, OK, then no items. Or, 'I only want to have bananas.' Well, OK. I think we're going to be able to provide a system to answer that desire this time around."
On top of that, Nintendo has released two images that tease a couple of new items that still have yet to be detailed. Give them a look above, and be sure to comment below, letting us know what you think they might do.
Mario Kart 8 launches on May 30th, exclusively for Wii U.
