The release date for Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp has finally been revealed as April 21, 2023 during the Nintendo Direct presentation that aired today, February 8. Pre-orders of the game are also now available starting today in the Nintendo eShop.
The game’s release date was delayed multiple times due to Russia-Ukraine war
With a trailer asking player to “get your tactical skill ready,” the game will feature three characters – Andy, Max, and Sami – in two full story-driven campaigns. Both will challenge players in turn-based strategy in multiple modes, including PvP with both local and online head-to-head matches.
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-boot Camp is a remake of Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. As such, it will spruce up the original games with a new art style, 3D graphics, and a re-recorded soundtrack. It will be the first Advance Wars game, developed by WayForward, to release on Nintendo Switch. Several new features in the remake include the ability to fast-forward through battle animations and reset the previous turn in case you make a mistake.
The game’s launch date was precariously in limbo since it was first revealed in 2021. It was originally set to release on December 3, 2021, but was delayed multiple times due the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
