Samba de Amigo: Party Central is not the only Samba de Amigo game coming in 2023. Sega has announced a Samba de Amigo VR game, one that is releasing on Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest Pro in the fall for $29.99
The Samba de Amigo VR game will have 40 songs
Sega revealed this game during the Meta Quest Showcase, and, despite its simple, subtitle-free name, it will be a new game and not a remake of the Dreamcast original. The gameplay seems to be a mix between Beat Saber and regular Samba de Amigo, as players move their controls to the beat in response to prompts that fly toward them, while also posing when the time calls. There are also minigames and an eight-player World party Mode.
And although Sega is referring to it as a new title, it shares a lot in common with the Nintendo Switch title, Samba de Amigo: Party Central. The key art is the same (sans the subtitle), and the songs in the reveal trailer are also in Party Central’s tracklist. Both games also have the same amount of songs.
Regardless, pre-orders are open now on the Meta Quest Store and those who do pre-order will unlock in-game accessories that mimic the Quest 2 headset and controllers (the former acts as a head accessory, while the latter replaces the player’s maracas).
