PlayStation 4 Release Calendar – May 2016

Yes, it can get better than last month! May’s PlayStation 4 release calendar promises a lot of great, lasting gameplay. An all-star lineup awaits you! Keep in mind that we’re just one month away from E3 2016, and usually May’s new releases take a noticeable dip; not this time!

You probably already know this, but we have to remind you that the following are confirmed releases for May. As always, release dates are subject to change, and if something's wrong, be kind and let us know!

Battleborn – May 3rd

We start off this month's new releases with the visually stunning Battleborn. With one star left in the galaxy, and hoards of alien species gathering there to protect it and earn their right to survive, you're in for an first-person co-op treat. With 25 totally different characters to play with, you'll be needing a lot of free time to fully enjoy this one.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – May 10th

Nathan Drake is back, and with him comes the signature PlayStation action/adventure. Nathan’s older brother Sam, long believed to be dead, suddenly appears, asking Drake to help him. A brother's gotta do what a brother's gotta do, and a new, hopefully epic adventure begins.

DOOM – May 13th

Dust off and clean up your old super-shotgun, chainsaw, and plasma ray gun, because on May 13th, demons will be back and you will take on the role of a lone DOOM Marine standing between them and the world.

Homefront: The Revolution, Valkyria Chronicles Remastered, Shadow of the Beast – May 17th

Triple treat day! First is Valkyria Chronicles Remastered, one of the best PlayStation 3 tactical role-playing games now remastered for PS4. Then treat yourself with a remake of the 1989 action classic Shadow of the Beast, once again taking on the role of monstrous warrior-servant Aarbron. And then finally hit the open world of Homefront: The Revolution. It is one of the most anticipated first-person shooter games of 2016 and I intend to free the United States from the evil North Korean empire.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Overwatch, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan – May 24th

Second triple treat day! May 2016 is filled with favorite character comebacks. One of those I eagerly await is Faith Connor in Mirror's Edge Catalyst. The art of parkour is now set in a free-roam open world setting, and by the info released so far, it has the story chops to match it. High hopes for this one! Those pizza-loving green action fighting artists will be back as well with TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan. You can expect The Big Apple will need saving from Shredder's misdoings. Finally, get yourself ready for Blizzard’s Overwatch, a team-based shooter where heroes do battle in a world of conflict.

Dangerous Golf, Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter – May 27th

Lighten things up a bit by causing damage and smashing the scenes in Dangerous Golf before you use the full extent of your brain power in Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter. You’ll need all the logic, attention to detail, and deductive power you can muster. Across five linked cases you will, as Holmes, confront a dark family secret.

One Piece: Burning Blood, Dead Island: Definitive Collection, Fallout 4: Far Harbor DLC – May 31st

The last day of the month brings four titles. Actually two, one Definitive Collection and one DLC worth mentioning. Built upon the wacky and rich ONE PIECE universe, Burning Blood brings over 40 characters in 1-on-1 fighting action. Pay a visit to an open-world tropical island with hordes of zombies in Dead Island: Definitive Collection, a remastered version of the original Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide made for PS4. Finally, unravel the secrets and the mystery of Far Harbor in the third of the initial sets of Fallout 4 DLC add-ons.
