What Are You Playing? | February 22, 2019

We’ve just emerged from the biggest video game release week of the year so far, with Far Cry: New DawnMetro Exodus, and Crackdown 3 each launching in unison. Now we have Anthem, EA and BioWare’s highly anticipated loot shooter, releasing today and giving us another major game to sink our teeth into.

Here’s what the GameRevolution editorial team has been playing this week, and as always, let us know what you’ve been playing in the comments section below!

Paul Tamburro, executive editor: Apex Legends. Few games manage to keep me hooked for longer than a week, but I’m all in on this one. Hopefully, Respawn will be able to keep things interesting with Apex‘s seasons, as I can see me still enjoying this for a long time to come.”

Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “The last few days I’ve been playing Astroneer. It kind of reminds me of Subnautica without all the things trying to kill you. There are few games I could consider being lost in a cave for a half hour as fun in, but Astroneer somehow manages to pull it off.”

Mack Ashworth, lead editor: “I’ve been playing Anthem, Anthem, and more Anthem. After 30 hours (in under a week), I’m ready to put together this review. One final push and our verdict will be out there!”

Bradley Russell, news editor: “I’ve finally got round to playing Forza Horizon 4 and, I’ve gotta say, it’s absolutely incredible. It’s the perfect blend of arcadey motorsport and semi-realistic physics that I can’t get in, say, an F1 game, or even a Gran Turismo. There’s also nothing better, as a Brit, than drifting through a sleepy English village or careering over a roundabout. The UK really isn’t represented all that well in the industry (bring back The Getaway, I beg you), so it’s a breath of fresh air to see Forza Horizon 4 take the wheel and steer straight into my heart.”

Michael Leri, features editor: “I’ve been playing Trials Rising for review, which you’ll hear more about soon. But other than that, I’ve been delving into and finishing up new titles like Killzone Shadow Fall and 11-11: Memories Retold. The former is an underrated shooter while the latter is also an underrated adventure game with a well-told story. Both are about war and I’m going to let you guess which one has a more nuanced look at it.”
