A number of MCU Secret Wars characters have been rumored or leaked already, despite the supposed next Avengers movie not having been officially confirmed. Infinity War and Endgame directors the Russos have been tapped to return for the project, which may even link in with the equally strongly rumored Dark Avengers movie. So what Avengers Secret Wars characters can the fans expect to see?
All rumored MCU Secret Wars characters
Here are all the rumored Marvel characters who may make an appearance fighting on Battleworld against the Beyonder:
Venom Spider-Man (Tom Holland)
One of the biggest teases at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home was the reveal that the Venom symbiote is now in the MCU. Likewise, probably the most famous part of the original Secret Wars comic was the introduction of the symbiote and Spider-Man’s mysterious black suit. MCU artist Thomas du Crest has given fans a possible look at what Holland looks like in the Venom suit along with the tease “what might come next,” so this is possible.
While I wait for the greenlight to show the work I did for #spidermannowayhome , here is a small take on what might come next 😉#spiderman #nowayhome #venom #darksuit #symbiote #tomholland #conceptart #spiderman4 #artistsontwitter #characterdesign #artwork #spiderverse pic.twitter.com/ftBEqhKR5v

Wolverine/Logan (Hugh Jackman)
One of the more surprising rumors from last year was that Hugh Jackman would be returning as Wolverine/Logan to appear in the MCU. It was assumed that the movie Jackman would appear in would be this May’s Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, but it is possible the project could be Secret Wars instead as Wolverine and other X-Men were a big part of the story.
Doctor Doom
The MCU’s Fantastic Four movie is set to debut in 2023, directed by Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Jon Watts, and will presumably introduce a new version of Victor Von Doom — arguably the greatest Marvel villain. Doctor Doom is a big part of the various Secret Wars comic series and is usually portrayed as the ultimate antagonist, so if the MCU wants to escalate the villain to Thanos-level an Avengers: Secret Wars movie would work well.
The Amazing Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield)
After the “surprise” appearance of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men in No Way Home, the overwhelmingly positive reaction to their return has produced many rumors of further appearances. Secret Wars is top of the list, with Andrew Garfield and maybe even Maguire tipped to return.
Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds)
It seems pretty certain that the first X-Men project to hit the MCU won’t actually be an X-Men movie or Wolverine, it’ll be Deadpool 3. Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool/Wade Wilson is almost confirmed to be returning and would be a perfect fit to liven up Secret Wars. While Deadpool wasn’t part of the Secret Wars events, a later comic retconned this fact to make him a big part of the event.
She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany)
The Hulk’s presence or situation in the MCU is currently unknown, despite Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner’s brief appearance at the end of Shang-Chi, but a more natural fit would be Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk — who is getting a Disney Plus series this year and currently hasn’t been confirmed for any other projects, and as She-Hulk was an Avenger chosen for the comic book Secret Wars it would be a good fit.
Kang The Conqueror (Jonathan Majors)
Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror was introduced at the end of the Loki Disney Plus series, teased in Shang-Chi, and will make a proper return in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in 2023. Kang is seemingly being positioned as the next proper Thanos-level threat for the MCU to face and was already a big part of the Secret Wars comic — although in that, he tried to steal the Beyonder’s power only to fail and watch as Doctor Doom took the glory. Therefore, it’s possible that Kang may take the Doctor Doom role in the Avengers: Secret Wars movie instead if Marvel Studios wants to build him up.
Fans will have to wait for the movie to be officially announced to find out, however.
