Ninja Becomes First Twitch Streamer to Reach 10 Million Followers

Popular Fortnite Twitch streamer Ninja has become the first ever individual to reach 10 million followers on the platform, with him reaching this milestone while appearing at Lollapalooza. The streamer, real name Richard Tyler Blevins, made the announcement on Twitter, calling the achievement “seriously ridiculous.”

Ninja’s success on Twitch has increased dramatically this year. In July alone, the streamer obtained nearly 1 million followers, a tenth of his overall total. This has been aided by the ongoing popularity of Epic Games’ Fortnite, which remains the most-viewed game on the streaming site. Ninja has also hosted various celebrities on his channel, including a record-breaking stream with Drake.

Ninja has become a force on Twitch thanks to his impressive skills on battle royale games such as Fortnite and PUBG, with him having previously won the Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am tournament alongside DJ Marshmallow. The winners of the tournament were awarded a whopping $1 million to give to the charity of their choice.

Not only has Ninja now surpassed this incredible milestone, accumulating a staggering 10,013,221 followers at the time of this writing, but he’s also far ahead of any competition. According to the social statistics website Social Blade, the second most-followed streamer is Shroud, who boasts just under 4 million followers. Tsm_myth ranks just behind with the third highest number of followers.

As Fortnite continues to roll out brand new updates, it seems unlikely that Ninja’s popularity is going to slow down anytime soon. With his competitors nowhere in sight, the 27-year-old has become the de facto face of the streaming platform, and his audience is only set to expand throughout the rest of the year.
